Monday Morning Coffee Talk – 12/14
December 14th, 2009 | by PatsChowder |
Good morning, Patriots Nation! So this is what it feels like. It’s nice, but not as great as I rememebered it. You know, that feeling after a win. Maybe it’s because I am still not confident in our boys. The old New England Patriots would have blown a team like this out, but maybe my expectations are too high. You know what, I don’t think I am the only one in the Nation with unattainable expectations either. Nevertheless, a win is a win and I will gladly accept it with the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets nipping at our toes. Let’s take a look at this morning’s headlines to see what the rest of the Nation is thinking, shall we?
As I said in the intro, a win is a win and I will gladly accept it; however, it is a little concerning that Randy Moss was a complete no-show catching only one pass (which resulted in a fumble) and causing another interception. Maybe we’re all being hypercritical of him after the he was kicked out of the meeting, but this story will be interesting to say the least.
VIDEO HEADLINE: A snippet of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady’s press conferences. Belichick gives Wes Welker the ultimate Patriots compliment, while Brady discusses how the team finally made that one extra play.
The Providence Journal believes that the secondary received a boost with the returns of Shawn Springs and James Sanders. I say it certainly didn’t hurt, but I’m a good ways off from using any positive terminology when referring to the secondary.

It ISN’T reasonable to say that Moss “quit on the pats” as many of the sportscastors are saying after the game. Randy wants to win, period. He isn’t on the team just to get paid. He isn’t going to hit the field and play like poorly on purpose. People have off days… it IS very reasonable to think that his routine was thrown off because he wasn’t allowed to practice on wednesday.
Give the guy a break, he’ll be back next week…

Remember when Knee would only play “Under Smoke” defense and throw long bombs in Madden. That was awesome.
