Monday Morning Coffee Talk – 11/23

November 23rd, 2009 | by PatsChowder |

Patriots Ground Jets 31-14

Good morning, Patriots Nation! How glorious a morning it is. The sun is shining, the birds are, well, south for the winter, but there is a freshness in the air that only comes off of Patriots victories. There’s an extra hint of something as well. Maybe it’s the losses of Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, and Denver that make it extra special. I personally love seeing a Steelers loss/Patriots win combination in the box scores. It’s a beautiful thing. That being said, circled two weeks from now on your calendar. With the Patriots drawing New Orleans next week and the Miami Dolphins traveling to Buffalo, we could be staring at a game that could change the tides in the division when we travel to Miami on December 6. But, let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Let’s read the headlines from yesterday’s glory first.

New England Patriots

This is the difference between having Wes Welker on the team, and having him injured. Bob Ryan of the Boston Globe writes that while Darrelle Revis did do a nice job on Randy Moss, the Tom Brady-to-Wes Welker connection was alive and working. (VIDEO)

While the Patriots leader of the defense Jerod Mayo maintains that the defense kept its swagger all week, the former leader Tedy Bruschi had his doubts. After this week’s performance, I would say Mayo has a good handle on his unit.

This morning, WEEI’s Dennis and Callahan had their weekly interview with Tom Brady where he can’t say enough about both of his receivers. Listen to the audio and read the transcript by following the link.

The Patriots Insider does not want to enjoy the victory. They are moving on and taking a look ahead to the undefeated New Orleans Saints. No rest for the weary.
