October 20th, 2009 | by PatsChowder |Patriots Cut Banta-Cain
That’s right. In a surprise move by the Patriots, linebacker Tully Banta-Cain was given his walking papers. The Boston Herald thinks this is only temporary, but we shall see. I’ll just keep on sipping my coffee and hope the Herald is right. See their take below.

Boston Herald reporter Ian Rapoport thinks that this Banta-Cain cutting is merely procedural and he could be back on the roster “as soon as today.”
Here is your mission, should you choose to accept it: Figure out why Adalius Thomas was inactive this weekend and still isn’t at the stadium. Hmm…
Vince Wilfork was on WEEI’s Dale and Holley yesterday. Follow the link to get the transcript and full audio.
Jeff Fischer of the Titans isn’t focused on saving his job, reports The Tennessean. He shouldn’t be worried. His job security should be second to none, or maybe one, among NFL head coaches.
