Brett Favre Coming to New England?

Is Brett Favre on his way to New England to back up Tom Brady?
Let it be known that no stone will go unturned here at PatsChowder.com. Early this morning on the 1:00am (EST) SportsCenter, Stan Verrett reported the following story:
“Alright now, here’s an interesting scenario and it’s just hypothetical so don’t choke on your chowder if you are in Boston. Let’s just say that Tom Brady’s knee isn’t quite right and he can’t play at some point this fall with Matt Cassel gone now the Patriots start looking around for a veteran quarterback and they call… Brett Favre.”
According to Favre’s agent Bus Cook, Favre would have no interest and not just about the Patriots but with anyone. Cook issued the following statement to ESPN:
“He’s retired, he doesn’t have any desire to come back and that’s the way it is with Brett. He’s mowing his grass. He’s working on his farm. He enjoys that stuff.”
All of this has started up since Favre was officially granted his release from the Jets on Wednesday. Rumors are already running rampant that he is on his way to Minnesota so he can stick it to the Packers, and I guess you can toss the Patriots into the mix as well. Although, outside of Stan Verrett’s report, there has been no talk on the subject.
I would like to say that there is a 0% chance of this happening, but any sports fan will tell you that there is no such thing as 0%. There is always a chance.
That being said… this ain’t happenin’.
